Accommodations

Limited KMC New York accommodations are available by reserving online (see above).

Special Celebration hotel rates are available at the Comfort Inn in Port Jervis - $89/night for up to 4 people. To reserve a discounted room at the Comfort Inn, please call 845-856-6611 prior to September 25th and request the “Kadampa” rate. After September 25 normal rates may apply.

New local hotel - Hampton Inn in Matamoras, PA. Construction finished August 2009. At the moment their standard rates are $139/night. They offer discounts for AARP & AAA. You can register on their website or call 517-491-5280.

Parking and Transportation

There is limited parking at KMC NY. Therefore we ask that everyone carpool as much as possible.

To park onsite, you will need to have registered for a parking pass in advance, which can be done online when you register for the event. If you missed this, please email info@nedharmacelebration.org to add parking to your registration. Handicap parking passes are available if you hold a valid handicap permit. Please select the the handicap permit option when you register.

We regret there are no hotel shuttles for this event.

Children

Children are welcome at the NEDC, but must be with a responsible adult at all times. All children, even infants, must be registered. Please register each child individually. Costs are as follows:

No charge for under 4, $10/full day for ages 4-9, $20/full day for ages 10-15.
On-site camping for children ages 4-15, $10/night

Childcare with Dharma activities is available for children ages 4-12 during all NEDC sessions, including the Empowerment. Babysitting at $5/ hour is available for children under 4 during the Empowerment only. Parent volunteers are welcome and greatly appreciated - please email if you can help with childcare for one or more sessions.

Children who attend any events in the Temple must be supervised closely and not disturb others. Children who are disruptive will be asked to leave the Temple immediately with their parents. We regret there are no on-site indoor accommodations available for children at this event.
